Important Performance and Competition Info
Going for Gold!
 The BEHC and members of NACA choruses from Acton, Andover, Framingham, Worcester, Connecticut, and Rhode Island are joining hands once again to compete for a coveted gold medal. This time, we head north to return to Montreal for the largest gathering of national and international amateur choirs in North America: the 5th Annual Loto-Quebec World Choral Competition (Le Mondial Choral Loto-Quebec) from July 8 through July 12, 2009.
Under the direction of Qiao Wanjun and with Guo Ling's superb piano accompaniment, the chorus will compete in three categories with the following pieces:

Multicultural Choirs with "Half Moon Rising", "The Great Tibet" and "Love of Grassland" |
| |
• |
Major Mixed Voice Choirs with "Bucolic", "Wait Till Dawn", "Go to a Beautiful Place" |
| |
• |
Adult Female Choirs with "Jasmine", "Xiao Bai Cai", "Flower Sisters" |
The preparations for the event have been intense:

• |
For several months, dedicated chorus members have regularly attended three rehearsals a week…and sometimes more for the ladies. |
| |
• |
BEHC and NACA chorus leaders have put in countless hours to ensure that the finances, travel plans, hotel arrangements and, of course, our music are all the best that they can be. |

• |
Dick Calandrella wrote and distributed event press releases to all our local newspapers, and arranged a venue for our dress rehearsal. |
| |
• |
Ke Ke, Director of the Angel Dance Troup, choreographed and taught the ladies dance movements for The Great Tibet. |
| |
• |
Members recorded themselves singing each song individually and sent the recordings to Director Qiao Wanjun for review. |
| |
• |
Director Qiao studied all our recordings and drove us through all the rehearsals, coaxing us on with a motivating mixture of encouragement when we're good and chiding when we were not so good. |

• |
And many more individual and group efforts, big and small. |
The Montreal competition will be surely fierce but, after devoting such energy, effort and enthusiasm, the chorus can only return home from Montreal with golden memories of another event in which we joined hands, worked hard and gave our all.

步行筹款支援四川地震灾区
5月31日大波士顿地区华人聚集于波士顿公园举办了一个大型步行筹款活动。NACA也参加了在此公园内举行的户外音乐会，演唱了四首合唱歌曲。

5月25日，NACA一百多名合唱团员参加了大波士顿地区四川地震募捐组织在MIT举办的大型抗震救灾义演。
